Pine Cone by mtngal

Pine Cone

66 / 365
Monday I spent lunch experimenting with multiple exposures, but it didn't work at all. So when I got home and saw just how awful they were, I went outside to try to get something that I could post. This pine cone was in my neighbor's yard, I how it was lit by the evening light. I'm going to have to try multiple exposure some other time.

Don't you hate when you spend so much time on something for nothing to work! I like the textures and tones in this. Nice DOF too.

@kellc @emjay8 I have something very specific in mind, and now I'm not so sure I can get what I want. I'm definitely going to need a tripod and a remote, even resting the camera on a stone wall didn't work. And I may not be able to get what I want anyway, the powers that be are cracking down on who can use the facility that I want to use to make sense of the project - I know, that doesn't make any sense. At least I'm glad that I have good company when it comes to this failure. Kelly - this was taken with the DA300 wide open, looks like I have the focus adjusted correctly now.

@copperheadglass Thanks! At least I had a very good opportunity to redeem myself. And it looks like the focus on the lens is pretty good - this was taken with it wide open.
