Somehow red rocks and green grass/trees don't go together in my mind. I'm familiar with red rocks but they don't usually have anything green growing on them.
This was taken with a circular polarizer, which accented the colors quite a bit. The place was nowhere special, the view from a roadside rest stop along an interstate highway.

@copperheadglass Meredith, I find a CPL useful sometimes. It really helped here. I also found it really helpful when I was shooting through the windshield, it helped cut down on reflections and tended to help the camera deal with the white balance. Usually I see a definite color cast with pictures I've shot through a windshield, but it was far less obvious when I was using the CPL.
I can now agree that the effect increases at higher elevations, too.
