A pretty crimson rosella, indigenous to the south west of Victoria. This one capture at Lake Bellfield, near Halls Gap.

@sarasdadandmom ha so he does Terry - they are really colourful birds and I love seeing them in a little flock in our garden. They are attracted to the native flowering trees.

A lovely shot, showing up all its fluffiness. These are such beautiful birds. They are actually present all the way up the east coast of NSW as well and halfway along Queensland, but more common in cold areas of both states. We had flocks of them in our garden when we lived in Armidale. I remember being at Halls Gap one year when they decided to delve into our butter container. That made a great photo. Great dof in your shot, and I love the glimpses of gum leaves and gum nuts.
