Past its prime

This old house has exceeded its "best before" date. I thought it made an interesting image, though. There's just something about falling-down old buildings that I find attractive, at least when they are out in the countryside and "uncluttered" by more recent structures.
And the lovely snowy scene makes it almost "pretty". Like the way you composed it.

Nice composition to tuck it into a snug and safe spot. Gives it a warm feeling.

Store that image in a safe place, the memory will stay in your mind but the image is priceless. Was an old barn, between home and the postoffice, it started to "age" but I never stopped. Can't see the remains for the blackberry bushes. Same thing almost happened between Flagstaff and the Canyon, but I stopped, photographed. Heavy snows collapsed the building.

it's a wonderful image and subject. the house seems to be falling gradually into its natural surroundings. i don't know if you want to enter any of the challenges on 365, but it might be suitable for the eye of the beholder if you were interested: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/32573/a-new-year-and-a-new-eotb-challenge

@pistache Thanks for the tip. I have not entered any challenges yet, and had not considered the EOTB challenge for this shot, but have now tagged it to that challenge.

@jjcloete @byrdlip @jannkc @elkereturns @milaniet @rachelbrokaw @777margo Thanks all, for your kind comments. I had not expected this image to get that much community reaction. Just goes to show you that what one person finds interesting, others may find interesting also.
