You've captured this at a wonderful angle and beautiful dof. Playing chess can be a romantic game and challenge with the mind! And isn't that where a good romance begins?!! :)
Very romantic with the opposing king and queen unable to fullfil their romance. You say you're not romantic ?!?! The beauty of your photos belies that. Excellent story and capture
Looks like an "infinity" board. Very well done. I am not a romantic either so I know where you're coming from. You do the non-romance thing quite well.
love the light and perspective - not sure what putting two opposing combat symbols together for V day says about your early childhood but Im sure Freud would have a theory :-)
Like the angle, gives that emphasis to the chess pieces. Good idea. Passion, creativity, emotion, beauty all in your shots, think romance in there somewhere too.
You need a love potion, Livia. Will ask Cupid to see whether he can do anything for you, haha. I think Valentine's Day is there for the businessmen to get richer. Valentine's Day should be everyday - not the business part.
Great detail on the wood. I thought maybe you used a backdrop to get the white out, but I vaguely see something in the background. If you don't mind me asking, how did you overexpose the background? Great effect.
@losthorizon The background is a sheet of white paper. I shot this next to a closed glass window. It was fairly bright, afternoon sunlight. The chess board was placed such that the side furthest from me is closest to the window. So it gets the most light, and that's how it looks overexposed after adjusting the contrast levels. (I use a 12-year-old version of Paint Shop Pro.) I hope my explanation makes sense. 8)
Thank you! I want to thank everyone for visiting and enjoying my take on Valentine's Day! I appreciate your support very much, more than you can imagine. Your comments encourage and inspire me. Thank you, so much!
PS. Really, I'm not a romantic by any definition. I avoid chick flicks, I dislike love songs, I don't read romance novels. I'd rather watch a zombie movie, listen to hard rock and read Stephen King. 8D
Thanks Livia for the help. Your photos have inspired me. Gets me to look at things in a different light. And as for Stephen King.....all I have to say is I've been dying to do a photo in reference to "The Dark Tower". Maybe next week. Thanks again.
Love It !!
