Just as this little fella had to say goodbye to me, we have to say goodbye to Jumping Spiders Week!
I've had 7 days of fun, and I hope I didn't traumatize anyone too much with the relentless obsessing. This is something new to me as well. When I started this project, spiders was the furthest thing from my mind. I simply wouldn't have been able to imagine that I would, one day, find these tiny jumpers cute. I have my macro lens to thank for showing me a fabulous new world! I don't think I'm ever going to remove that lens from my little Sony camera.
"Thank you!" to all of you for being patient with me. I am grateful.
PS. For anyone who still wonders what on earth my shot shows, well, it's a jumping spider's butt as he turned to go. I shoot them from any angle I can, and then I shoot some more. ;D
It is a perfect shot to end the series on! A jumping spider's butt - never thought I would see one of these:0) It has been fabulous to see this series Livia, just fabulous;0)
It was an awesome week and this is an awesome picture to end the series. I feel a bit sad to see him go - who would have thought that. This project really gives you new obsessions - you have spiders, I have a strange love for red trains... :-)
Wonderful series, Livia! I have enjoyed every single one of your jumpers and the fascinating info and stories you posted with the shots! This is another fantastic capture! Great job and great series!
Hey Lovely Spider Girl! I have been replying to a few comments and included you and then realized you asked me not to:0( Knew I would forget, so for the last few I didn't - it seemed so strange though. But you know I appreciate your comments and your fabulous sense of humour:0)
Loved spider week! I took a macro of a mosquito today and I can't bring myself to post it as it really is too creepy but I haven't felt that about your jumping spiders at all!! Glad you told me it was his behind too - I thought it was wondering! Also I know you don't get any notifications - I just wanted to say it really made my day to see you had put my photo in for the Fav of someone else's discussion - I've been having a 'not sure how i'm going to get through the next 6 months' few days and it really gave me a boost I needed - So Thank you loads xxxx
Sorry to see this series end! May be you could appease us new arachniphiles with one shot a week? Seriously this is a new level of cute and your spider has gorgeous underwear as well as fascinating headgear!
A great, big, happy "THANK YOU!" to everyone! Thank you for your patience, your encouragement and your kindness. I hope I'll be able to meet more jumping spiders so I can shoot them and add them to my project. Every encounter is different, and I remember all of them very well.
Great work, Livia!
First impression when I saw this, was - Man, what an eye! - before I realized it was the back end... ;-p It could really be one of the creatures form Ghibli Studios' "Spirited Away"... ;-p
My English writing is to bad to explain why I like this pic so much .
I too have a new found respect for jumping spiders.
I also love your use of space in this picture.
Again, thank you so much.
