Where's The Color?

Is it odd for flowers to have no color? I think so. But I was bit by the editing bug. XD

Ahh, very pretty in b/w!

Beautiful
August 5th, 2012
It looks great.
August 5th, 2012
beautiful, the process is great!
August 5th, 2012
Lovely, Livia. I like the light and the water drops.
August 5th, 2012
I like the silver tone. It is something different and really complimentary to the photo.
August 5th, 2012
Really beautiful in b&w, great job
August 5th, 2012
The shape and the form becomes the beauty... Nice
August 5th, 2012
Colors or without colors...still beautiful! There are so much details on this image! Well done!
August 5th, 2012
Love the droplets, think it works nicely as B&W!
August 5th, 2012
Very nice processing.
August 5th, 2012
Lovely shot Livia
August 5th, 2012
Stunning - startling!
August 5th, 2012
I do like the detail that converting to B&W gives you though. I can imagine the colour these were ;o) xx
August 5th, 2012
I think iy reminds me of black and white newspaper wedding stories, and I love the fact it makes us see detail that color would distract us from
August 5th, 2012
Beautifully composed!
August 5th, 2012
Lovely - the velvet texture is far more apparent without the distraction of colour!
August 5th, 2012
I think the B&W probably helps bring out the markings Livia. The detail and composition are terriffic...three days without a bug? Have I been missing something? :)
August 5th, 2012
@bluefirebucket I like being unpredictable. 8)
August 5th, 2012
It's lovely and you look at the textures in a different way!
August 5th, 2012
Bob
B&W is good. Many times this enhances a photo and much more is seen without the color to divert the eye.
August 5th, 2012
I like this one a lot, I agree with Bob.
August 5th, 2012
A great time of my life there only was B+W. You have to look different to it . It`s no compere. In art I`ve only one law, what have they done with it to impress me. You succeeded mightly
August 5th, 2012
I think the B&W is very effective. I like the DOF too.
August 5th, 2012
B&W work very well, make you look a the detail of the flowers. instead of notcing the bright clours first.
August 5th, 2012
I think its beautiful, i love the B&W =)
August 5th, 2012
The b&w really emphasises the pattern. I love it!
August 5th, 2012
And now the bugs are biting you?! "Stop taking my picture, lady!!";-) I like this in b&w! Nice!
August 5th, 2012
I love flowers in B&W-emaphsizes the patterns and from-this is gorgeous
August 5th, 2012
Great texture!
August 5th, 2012
Odd, may be, but it reveals the texture and patterns! I like it!
August 5th, 2012
I agree with the comments above, sometimes B&W is just right. Beautiful, great dof

August 5th, 2012
I think they look beautiful either way! Great job!
August 5th, 2012
wow this is lovely :D
August 5th, 2012
I like the mono on this - often the colour covers up any deficiencies, whereas in mono it has to be correct everywhere. - And you have got it correct!!
August 5th, 2012
Very pretty without the color :)
August 5th, 2012
Lovely in b&w
August 5th, 2012
The shapes are very effective perhaps more so without the colour when you are looking at that more. A lovely shot.
August 5th, 2012

August 6th, 2012
Soft and pretty!!
August 6th, 2012
I love to take something that I would normally shoot in color and put it into b/w. I think that this actually helps me to work with color better. (And the reverse is also true!) Great shot!
August 6th, 2012
Love the light, the textures, the detail... who needs color?
August 6th, 2012
LOL at the "editing bug" but it's some mighty nice editing.
August 6th, 2012
Love the finished product as always POV and focus are perfect
August 6th, 2012
I have no doubt they look lovely in colour but they do look equally pretty in black and white.
August 6th, 2012
Wonderful - love this version. Color sometimes can overpower the beauty of the shapes and textures - very good choice of leaving it out here :-).
August 6th, 2012
Very neat processing. Lovely shot.
August 6th, 2012
love the spots, tones and processing!
August 6th, 2012

Awesome, great DOF and processing
August 6th, 2012
Great B&W - the tops of the stamens really stand out!!
August 6th, 2012
I never thought flowers should be shot in b&w - then someone suggested that you see more details when the photo is in b&w - I tried it, and he was right! Wonderful catch, Livia!
August 6th, 2012
awesome, i know these would have been colourfull but the b&w conversion works great

August 7th, 2012
A great, big, monochromatic, soft toned and flowery "THANK YOU!" to everyone! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by. It was fun processing the shot to see how it would look without color. The flowers are originally a sweet pink. Thank you so much for your supportive comments. I am grateful.
August 7th, 2012
B&W works so well with this shot.
August 7th, 2012
Love the processing on this one.
August 8th, 2012
This is gorgeous and you can see the levels of depth and stacking that may not be as obvious in color. Beautiful!
August 9th, 2012
This is gorgeous in b&w. Looks very fragile.
August 10th, 2012
Saw this on the b&w weekly wrap up and had to stop by and say - WOW! I love this!
August 10th, 2012
Even though there's no color, I think they still retain their beauty. So much detail they convey, which is accentuated perfectly by your capture. Love the textures, lighting and composition of the capture.
August 11th, 2012
It's a great edit Livia. The structure of the flower is wonderful in itself and the lack of colour allows us to concentrate on that. Love it! A fav for me!
August 12th, 2012
Love this, the b&w works well on this. Great textures, lighting and composition....Fav for me =)
