Only a few days left to August, and I'm still trying to mix it up. I do like how my calendar view looks so far. 8)
Here's a little glimpse of my home.
It's the living room. Above the sofa is a 2,000 piece jigsaw puzzle that I had completed and framed some 15 years ago. It says "The Earth For Animals". A beautiful illustration that was originally full of warm earthy hues and tones. Over the years, the colors have faded to a grey-blue palette.
This is not the biggest jigsaw puzzle I've done, which is a 4,000 piece. It has been framed but, because it is so heavy, we are afraid to hang it up. I have visions of it falling off the wall and killing someone. XD
You are soooo funny! Remind me not to visit you....I wouldn't want to be killed by a falling jigsaw puzzle....LOL!! Seriously, it looks like a lovely puzzle and definitely deserving of being framed.
I used to like doing jigsaw. Ad then sadly got into problem solving role play computer games like Myst and preferred those...never did puzzles since then. This cropping is unexpected a nd effective! Love the b and w too!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE jigsaw puzzles, but I'm a bit spoiled because I grew up doing wooden ones and you just don't get the same satisfying "plunk" putting a piece in with a cardboard puzzle. This one looks amazing tho!
I used to do puzzles...but, no more. Computers have destroyed my patience! Have you considered a bracket they use for large screen tvs? I love your other room posting in Feb.
Being killed on the toilett by a falling jigsaw puzzle, that would make some headlines. Never hung any of my puzzles, always goes back in the box for future...I don't knows. Nice comp
Great job mixing up your thumbnail. And it's fun to get a glimpse of your home. Love the jigsaw puzzle--LOL about being killed by a falling jigsaw puzzle!!!
Perfect framing of this. I love the puzzle picture . My father was a big puzzle person. Once we gavehim big multicolour round puzzle and anotherttime we gave a puzzle that was uniformly blue! He managed to complete both!
Never heard of a killing jigsaw puzzle. Great subject for a scary movie.
It reminds me of my dear Mother. she always did this and frame a 5000 pieces one.
Love the composition of you pic. and thanks for the view inside you house
We love doing jig saw puzzles as well, maybe with the large one you did you could have it made into a coffee table, my partner made a table for my son and a poster was in the table inset, then glass was placed in it as well. looks great.
i like doing puzzles but haven't since my babies were born an with the youngest about to move out and all my framed puzzles faded too, I should try again.
This is Beautiful Livia! I like framed Jigsaw puzzles and i was blessed to have gotten one from my Dad of a Eagle Souring Above the Mountains! i really like your's alot but i am with Carol..lol! i skip the visit if you hang the heavy one up!! :)
@carmel Took a couple of weeks, because I wasn't able to work on the puzzle every day. Now, I can finish a 2,000 piece in 5-6 days. But my eyesight isn't what it used to be and I need to take more breaks. 8)
@http365proj That's a great idea! If we turned the 4,000 piece into a table though, I think it'll be too big for our small living room, haha. Your son's table must look wonderful! 8)
That must require great patience. My son, JP (Jean-Pierre) used to love making them but he doesn't have the time for anything anymore. Lovely capture and B&W effect.
Great composition and love the monochrome here Livia - I used to love jigsaws - havent done any in ages - love both rooms though - as I didnt see the first one - it was prior to me starting my project!
Lovely shot, my best friend bought me an impossi puzzle. It was a boarderless puzzel of cows in boots, with 5 extra pieces. All the cows looked the same on a red background. it took me 5 months to finish and I have never done a puzzle since lol
Oh wow, that's an achievement! I have a friend who does these but she hasn't framed any of them. Must tell her about yours. And yes, like @cimes1 I too would hate to be killed by a falling jigsaw puzzle!
Its nice to get a glimpse into your home. My parents had 2 such puzzles in their old home that we all put together and my dad framed some 20 years ago. Unfortunately they are long gone now, but they were pretty cool and fun for us all to contribute to!
I too really like the puzzle picture! I didn't realize it was a puzzle until I read your commentary. I also like how you included the top of the back of the couch in the photograph! Nicely done! I have decided to follow your work Livia!
A nice minimal composition to go with your lovely minimal decor. I have always loved jigsaw puzzles too. When I was little my mother could borrow them from a toy store in town. We loved those because they were wooden and had all these cool shapes in them as well as the traditional interlocking pieces. When my boys were young I found a catalog company that sold jigsaw puzzles for a relatively reasonable price but after a while, I didn't know what to do with all the puzzles I was accumulating and decided to stop. But I do love working on them!
LOL to falling down and killing someone ¦). This looks like Noah's puzzle for when he was getting the animals into the ship hehe. Lovely contrast and composition, Livia!
So lovely that you give us this glimpse. Lovely simplistic composition. What a super picture picture to do, where do you work at such a large jigsaw. I always have one on the go, but only 1000 pieces, and it's in a fold over board for easy moving. I never do them quickly just spend some time when I can.
A great, big, one-piece-at-a-time, quickly glimpsed, frank and personal "THANK YOU!" to everyone for taking the time to stop by!
Jigsaw puzzles are fun to do, but I'm much older now and my eyesight isn't so great. Thank you for your comments. They are a great source of encouragement to me. This project is like a jigsaw puzzle too. All 365 pieces need to fit together and you can't hurry along, a puzzle needs time to be completed!
Awesome composition, lighting and the b&w works great on this. Love puzzles. There's always a puzzle on the table being put together here. We visited a store last year sometime. They had for sale the Guiness Book of World Records largest puzzle, a Ravensburger 32,000 + piece puzzle, that when finished would be 543.6cm x 191.8cm in size. Since I don't have a factory floor to even attempt it, we did not purchase it. So unfortunate. LOL
Great job on completing puzzles that big. I haven't ventured to that size yet - one day maybe : ). Nice shot and it lookds like a lovely puzzle. Would be interested in seeing the other one - preferably without a body below it : ) hehe lol xx
