The answer for yesterday's puzzle is 3 minutes. Did you get it right?
Another one? This one is from Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
Somebody ate the butcher's sausages! Here's what these 4 boys have to say.
A: "B ate the sausages!"
B: "D ate them all up!"
C: "I didn't eat them, no way!"
D: "B's totally lying!"
Only one of these rascals is telling the truth and all the others are, needless to say, lying. Can you figure out who ate the sausages?
I'll post the answer tomorrow. 8D
The cat in my shot was bought on one of my trips to Japan, a few years ago, when I visited Wakayama. It was in a little shop that sold nothing but kitty-related merchandise! Big cat sculptures, small cat figurines, cat stationery, cat bags, cat everything. All beautifully handmade. I remember wishing I was filthy rich, so that I could buy the entire shop! XD
Fun and creative - Glad to see Professor Layton has time to sit and enjoy a cuppa. As for the answer.... Why isn't there an E option="all of the above"? I think they all boys were in it together and colluded an 'a to d' result. As boys do!
I like this chap. Now I am not very good at these puzzles, 46 year old brain prefers things simpler. As no-one else has guessed, I will have a go, so my guess is C.
Puzzles are apparently not my thing! When you tell us what the answer is can you also explain why please? :o) You have quite a collection of collectibles don't you! xx
Another great capture. Love the composition, lighting and tones. Gonna go with "c" since he's the only one not blaming someone else.
As for detectives, if you ever get a chance, read the Agent Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Great diabolical stuff. Agent Pendergast first appears in the novel Relic as a side character, but he was so well created, they made the series his.
@svarri Definitely. Been a long time since I read it, but vaguely remember how he first appeared on scene, gaunt, pale, creepy. So many famous characters first appeared in that novel: Margo Green, Lt. D'Agosta, and the always awesome William Smithback Jr.
The beauty of those novels is that every novel they have written is connected in some way. Main characters in one novel show up as side characters in another unrelated novel. My fav though will always be Cabinet of Curiosities. But to appreciate it, you have to read all the other novels leading up to it.
oh I am liking these professor shots and puzzles, although probably best if I look at and read your at a more reasonable hour of the day ~ my head hurts! :-)
@psychographer I'm lousy at explanations! XD For yesterday's puzzle, this is what happens. One person (let's call him P1) takes one minute to tell the next person (P2). Now there are two people with the message. So P1 and P2 tell P3 and P4 respectively, at the same time. That's another minute. After that, P1, P2, P3 and P4 tell P5, P6, P7 and P8. And that's another minute. So there you have it, the shortest possible amount of time it takes for the message to get passed to 7 other people is a total of 3 minutes. Hope that makes sense. 8)
Being the mother of two boys, I can say with all certainty that none of them is telling the absolute truth! lol In reality, I am a visual puzzle solver. I always look for evidence because it is human nature to often say one thing and do another. Cute kitty, cute shot.
A great, big, caffeine-infused, kitty-aware, Professor-endorsed "THANK YOU!" to all! So glad you're enjoying the series. I love taking pictures of the Professor and I am grateful for your constant support. Thank you so much.
@sailingmusic No, I just shoot at a window. The light is natural, it comes through the glass, from the left side. That's why the shadows are on the right. 8)
Really cute photo, love the cat and story behind it.
Remember , only the last person on earth own`s everything .

@losthorizon I didn't remember that Pendergast first appeared in Relic.

I think that Mr. D is telling the truth and that Mr. C ate them... naughty boy!
