An Alien Planet Shot - (I think I've watched too much sci-fi) (Get Pushed Challenge)
Oh I am not sure I met the qualifications. I haven't had a chance to get away from West Bend this week I've been fighting a cold. I don't see any "panorama" quality views here. I'm not sure how to stitch various photos together. Well I'll see if I can find something else for on Saturday or Sunday.
My get pushed challenge:
Hi Kathy, what an amazing shot - you are very talented. You are almost at 100% for this project and you have great shot's to show for it. So I want to give you something special I think you'll enjoy - I've been told it's fun. I am going to give you a challenge I haven’t tried myself yet but want to as it looks like fun and I hope you will enjoy it. My challenge for you is to create your own "Planet" photo using a Panorama shot
@evahenriette Oh I am not sure if this qualifies. It isn't exactly a Panorama shot I've been fighting a cold so I have been staying pretty local. I don't see any Panorama worthy shots around here. If I can do it on Saturday or Sunday I will have another go. I don't know how to stitch photos together. Oh I don't want to fail this challenge
@grammyn Thank you Katy - I'm not very confident with this one. Also, I think I'm suppose to do a panorama shot first and then turn it into planet. I've been sick so staying close to home. Not a lot worth of panorama around here.
Have you ever done a panorama? I don't know how to do this. I don't have photoshop.
@myhrhelper My camera will stitch a shot together for a panorama but I have never done one! I don't know why it needs to be a panorama THIS looks awesome!
I think this looks good. Thank you so much for the links Kathy. I have had Gimp on my computer for ages, and the only thing I had learnt to do was resize a photo for entering to a web comp. I followed the instuctions on the first link.....and I made a tiny planet! It was a terrible photo to start with so its a terrible tiny planet, but it did work, now I just need a better pano shot to have another go!!
I think you are too hard on yourself, Kathy... this is a gorgeous tiny planet! And if you are staying close to home try an indoor panorama and make that into a tiny planet... it could be a tiny Christmas planet it you feature your tree and go from there. I think that would look pretty cool!
I dont know what you did, or how you did it...but i said wow when i first opened it!! Great shot! i cant see how you could go wrong with this! FAV! ..i have a question regarding Photoshop...i am very computer and photoshop iliterate..if you had a chance to get a Ipad or photoshop which one would you choose? Now i dont do that much processing now with my photo's but am i missing somethin so big and dont even know it? i am willing to learn but i do not have alot of patience...should i go for it or stick with picmonkey and get the ipad! lol!
@ellimae All the software I use is free online software. I use Picmonkey, Ipiccy, and for this shot Gimp (don't really know this one yet). I would love to get a regular photo software like Photoshop but I've never used it. My husband has an Android tablet and he loves it. He is always forwarding photo articles to me from it. If it were me I'd probably go with the Ipad or Android and just keep using the free stuff for now.
Oh well that makes me feel even better about getting the ipad!! lol! Thank you so much..this shot is great and i thought for sure you used photoshop or i guess i assumed you did because of the links she posted!! my error for assuming! lol! Thanks u so much for your advice Kathy! i love your photo's! And respect your opinion! :)
Om My i just realized that this is your 366 shot!! Congratulations! and one Fantastic Shot to end your Project!! God Bless you and your Husbands work!! I hope you stay with us..i am just getting to know you! :) .

I've had some fun with the challenge you gave me, I've only uploaded on, view here: http://365project.org/evahenriette/365/2012-12-04 and hope to upload a few other tomorrow. My life is in turmoil at the moment so my heads not quite in it. So stay tuned and you'll see more soon.....I hope : ) xxx Thank you for the challenge.
congratulations on finishing your first year, KB. and what a way to finish it. this looks like an eyeball! great processing here. you'll go through your second year in a breeze. your photos certainly leaped from good to amazingly incredible during your first year. looking forward to more incredible photos for the next 365 days!
Wow this is absolutely fantastic my dear! I love the awesome sci-fi look! And congrats on starting your second year! Outstanding shot to start it off with!! :) Very fun and creative! :) Love this!
@summerfield@kbalychev Thank you so much!!!! I actually didn't finish my first year yet December 12th is the actual last day of the 1st year. I started December 13th. I have a few photos I threw in old days since I don't have an ace account.
That's a magical globe! Completely different from the city globes I zee more than once. And I see you completed the 365 project! Great compliments! You really made big leaps in expertise! For sure you will enjoy this for years! Kind regards and best wishes from your Dutch supporter!
Kathy this is spectacular (a Fav) - I think I might try my hand at this type of project one day. Congratulations on making the PP it's well deserved :)
I had planned to come back to this image and look at the tutorial you had posted. Now I can't see the link. Is it my browser that's stopping me to see the link or have you removed it? Even if you can just tell me what this type of image is called I can look it up.
Again, this is a fantastic image. Not sure why you thought you didn't do well with it.
