My get pushed partner had this to say:
"This is a beautiful field...and I recognize that tree...it has a glorious shape.
I have looked thru your album and looked at all your challenges done...wow...Since many of your shots have had wonderful light in them, I challenge you to play with light and do light painting....I hope that challenge is acceptable to you." @lynnb
@lynnb Here is my response to the challenge - I hope it's ok. I had to use a background photo from the past but did the light painting last night and just merged the two.
@lynnb I did the boat light painting but I thought it would be better to put it on water. Thank you! It was fun. I had different plans - I was going to have outlines of two people facing each other reaching toward each other with an orb type thing in the middle that they look like they are playing catch with. I needed people to help with it and planned on using my family while waiting for fireworks to start - well that didn't work for many reasons.
HOW did you do this. You took a shot of the lake that had the boat and person in it, and then how did you "write with light" on it in the right place? And my understanding of light writing is you stand there and swing around the light source but how would you do that in the water...as @swilde just said...how would you do this? Share the details! haha It is great! I love the result!
Kathy, thanks for the clallenge choices. For Get Pushed 51 I challenge you to do a multiple exposure of the subject of your choice. The exposure may be made in camera or in post processing. Have fun!
@dancingkatz Sounds like a fun challenge. I've done multiple exposures in the past (my camera has settings for it) but it's been awhile and I can try something new with it. Are your challenges ok?
@grammyn@swilde@tigerdreamer@espyetta Thank you so much for you compliments!! The boat is sitting on a trailer in our yard so I did the light drawing using that. The person is Vince Lombardi (I think that's who) a former Packer guy whose statue is in Green Bay. So I merged my lake photo, the statue guy and the light drawing.
@myhrhelper Lombardi! hee hee I hope he is enjoying that fishing trip. When you light paint with that boat on trailer, how do you do THAT? I am so ignorant! Do you point a light at the edges and move it around the boat with the shutter open?
@espyetta I had one of those glow sticks left over from the 4th of July. I put my camera on bulb setting - used the wireless remote and then slowly outlined the boat. Then I imagined where the waves would be
@myhrhelper my husband is the football & Packer fan - not me :) . We went to Green Bay for a meeting and thought we would take pictures afterwards.
Have you ever used the bulb setting?
