The big LIE - (Get Pushed challenge - Shadow subject
Well my challenge was a photo with a shadow(s) - well the sky was very overcast this week. When the sun came out I had to be inside. When I could go outside the sun decided to stay in (the clouds). This could NOT be an excuse not to do my challenge so if the sun was going to not come out neither would I and looked for an alternative shot - inside.
(still upset about my camera. The 50mm will not come off my camera. I am going to see if I can get it fixed - hopefully I won't be without a camera for a couple weeks)
This is what my get pushed partner Mary Siegle had to say:
@mcsiegle OK Kathy, Looking over your album and your long list of get-pushed challenges you've already been given, it seems like you've tried almost everything, but I know that's not really the case. Here's your get pushed challenge from me. Make a photo in which shadow is a main player (not just darkness, but shadow or shadows). I don't THINK I see that in your album. Have fun! And thank you for the challenge choices you've given me.
Clever shot and great words. How sad that they do. When I was little, my mom gave me Pinniochio nose growing pills. When I would tell a lie or fib I would feel my nose to see if it was growing. How funny that she lied to teach me not to lie. Hmmmm....
@mcsiegle Mary - here is my alternative get pushed shot. The sun would not cooperate. I had to fulfill my obligation and I hope this doesn't appear to cheesy.
@amandal thank you - oh your mom was good to teach you the importance of telling the truth but what a paradox to do it with a lie.
I felt it was so important to tell the truth to my kids that I never told them about Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. When I had a job as a receptionist I would drive my boss crazy because I would not lie for them. If they told me to tell someone that called they were at lunch I would tell them to leave first and then I will tell them that.
@grammyn@swilde@winshez@digitalrn@eniaral I think it is a poor example of shadow. I hope I can do a re-do of the challenge to post a proper example - that will depend on the status of my camera & if I will have one or not. @mcsiegle
Bravo! Thank you, Kathy. This is a straightforward but clever way of using shadow. It certainly fits the challenge. Using light and controlling shadows is something I myself really have to work on. Crossing my fingers that you will have your camera repaired soon.
