My husband came home with a gift from his mom.She wanted him to give this brooch with missing rhinestones to his daughter. He doesn't have a daughter. My mother in law has dementia. Most days she is an 88 year old, 98 pound ball of anger and fear. But sometimes the love shines through. This gift was given and accepted in love.
"Those with dementia are still people and they still have stories and they still have character and they're all individuals and they're all unique. And they just need to be interacted with on a human level."
-Carey Mulligan
Awww, Hope, I completely understand. My mom is starting down that path...and my fiance's mother is already in a nursing home with the same. It's hard to watch it happen. Love the photo. :)
Wonderful sparkle & bokeh in black & white! I can identify with your situation, too. My Dad struggled with dementia in his last years and it was so hard to see that kind of change in him. Sometimes, humor would break through the fog.
