Our numbers are soooo low this year -- I've seen one where I should have seen dozens by now. It's so sad to read how widespread the decline is.

A fellow educator and her husband are nurturing Monarchs this summer from egg to release. I got a photo of their first success, Nadine, today. Delightful to see your captures too! :)

Great capture! Sounds like you are enjoying your time at the workshop. It was a thrill to see the caterpillars go through the process of shedding their skin and create their chrysalis. I just missed a better opportunity to get better photos. When the process is over, the helpers remove the chrysalises and attach then to little pieces of cardboard. They move them to a display and pin the cardboard to a branch and people can see them and if they are lucky a butterfly might emerge. One was in the case drying its wings. That case was better for taking picture then the fish tank. No reflections.
