Oh the stories she could tell! I always wonder about the lives my animals led prior to living with me.This is Sugar. The bunny that started me on the path to rabbit rescuing. She was dumped at my Moms apartment complex and was surviving on handouts and grass treated with pesticides. Her mate was found dead on the entrance road. The neighbors told me the landlord was trying to catch and kill her. I took her and brought her to the vet who said she was dehydrated and flea ridden and very pregnant. She gave birth that night at the vets. 8 beautiful babies that we fostered. We named her Sugar. My husband kept saying you are only keeping the mom, right? Yep. Then one of her babies was attached to her side 24 /7 so I kept her too. Her name is Gracie. Then my husband fell in love with the goofy runt with the mismatched ears and we kept him too. His name was Archie. We lost him a few months ago very suddenly at the age of 8. We all miss him so much. ( all the bunnies we did not keep found amazing homes , and all were spayed and neutered thanks to Hug-A -Bunny -Rabbit Rescue.)
(More photos to come @juliedduncan I need better indoor light it is dark and dreary here today and my buns are camera shy)
So happy you were there to help sweet Sugar and her babies. I actually have had 3 bunnies...Raquel (mini lop), April (Holland Lop) and Rita May (French or German Lop). They are so cute and entertaining, especially our Rita May who was suppose to be a mini lop and grew much bigger. Fav.
