Hold Fast

"The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble. "
-Blaise Pascal

While sitting on my garden bench I noticed these tiny little " hold fasts" on the Virginia Creeper vine.Like little red suckers that help the vine stay in place.Nature is amazing.

Interesting close-up. I noticed something similar when I stripped away some English ivy from the side of my house this summer.
