So....Even though the woods are still covered in snow and everything is wet. Guess what happened a minute after I set this crystal ball down on the log? That sunflare in the lower right turned into a puff of smoke followed by a small flame which I had to smother with snow!
My first reaction is to laugh! i am not sure why! I have never heard of anyone having a problem with that. At least you got a shot of it! Awesome shot too, Hope
@mzzhope Well of course ! If it had ended badly I wouldn't have laughted at all! When I think of all the people who try to start a fire in this or a similar way and who fail at it and then hear you were trying to just take a photo and started one without even trying it just seems funny.
@grammyn I thought it was hilarious too! Do you know how often we have tried to start fires in the fireplace with that wet wood out there? This was almost instant! LOL. Everyone should have one in a survival kit! :)
I love these reflective balls, love the them and I must get me one too! But it shoulds like you need to be careful with those, never thought they could be so dangerous!
oh my goodness, imagine that in the papers, 'photographer accidently starts massive wildfire through irresponsible crystal ball use....' how big is your ball? I have a glass which is under 2 inches across ... a little small and blurry I discovered today lol
@kali66 lol!Kali! Those headlines were going through my mind! I have this one that I bought online that is the size of a baseball and a smaller real crystal that is about 2 inches. It has flaws and bubbles but I love it .
Oh wow! It's never that easy to start a fire when you need to. We go camping and try to start it the old fashioned way - waaaay hard! I think we need your magic crystal ball. Beautiful image!
Nice photo!
