@medusa@inkie The surface is an ordinary CD. The drops are just plain old water. I placed a flashlight on the one side. I framed and focused the drops in the viewfinder moving around until I liked the look. It took several tries especially since I was trying to do this with a handheld camera. If you look up the tag "cd", you will see other similar shots.
I've tried this myself but could not get the rainbow. Not with a light bulb, not with white leds. How did you do it? What was your light source and where did you position it?

It was at what is the top of the image but far enough away to not cause a reflection. I kept shift that and my position until I got something I liked.
