Day 167: 16-06-10

So, yeah the photo's sloppy, but I'm kinda tired today and didn't have much inspiration. I was majorly annoyed earlier, there was another half page in the paper on how exams are getting easier. I am sick to death of the media going on about how exams are so easy these days because you know what? They're not. And you know what else? Because the media go on about this, it means that the expectations of students so much higher so we're put under an insane amount of pressure! We now need more GCSEs at higher grades for them to mean as much as in our parents day. I'd like someone from the newspaper to go through the life of a teenager during exam time in this day and age, BEFORE they start criticising everything. /rant xD
I don't think this is that bad. It relates to how you're feeling at the moment with everything. I really like the quote. :)

My Mum used to work at St Aidan's and she disagreed completely. The difference is in the level of support and encouragement we get compared to what our parents did. We are encouraged to work hard and believe in our abilities, so we do well. That's what's changed.

Really?! And yes, we do get a lot of support and encouragement...but at the same time I think that, especially at St Aidan's, because it's a very high achieveing school...there is an insane amount of pressure to reach the top grades...

I think the pressure on students has definitely increased. I have been hearing commercials on the radio for a learn-to-read program that can teach a child to read at 18 months. What 18-month-old child needs to read? I am sure you are doing awesome on your exams! Thinking of you and hoping it's all over soon!
