Window

Test shot, working on comparing results for an assignment I have this weekend.

It struck me at 4:30 this morning as I was wondering if it had rained over night that there are people in the world that never knew the joy of waking at 2am to the soft whisper of snowflakes falling then drifted back to sleep with nervous anticipation of the fact that school might be cancelled the next day. Then the bliss as you woke again a little later to the grinding of steel on asphalt as the snowplow made its way down the road, and tiptowing out of bed you peeked out at the dark world made bright by snow reflecting glints of light. Staying at the window peeking out till your toes just got too cold to take it anymore and you rushed under the covers again waiting till 5am when the radio stations would start reporting school closings.

It made me very sad to think there are some kids that grow up without that joy.

I love the story and then this dear wee crumpled face is looking out the window up at the sky, so good, Neda! Fav.

Oh cabbage patch kids, yay! I also wholeheartedly support your story. As an elementary school teacher, it's amazing how you still feel the same anticipating (and joy!) when it snows. No snow days this school year, however ...
