Cabot Tower by neiljforsyth

Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower, Bristol, designed by William Venn Gough and built in 1897-98. It was constructed in memory of John Cabot, 400 years after he set sail in the Matthew from Bristol in 1497 and landed in what was later to become Canada.

It's one of the first Bristol landmarks I saw (on my first visit to the city, in 1979) and still one of my favourites.
Lovely tower.
