I like the reflection, and the composition of the shot. It was very obliging of those particular birds to show off the darker colours of their wings. ;-)
When I think back to seeing flamingos when I was a child, I remember their feathers being a lot bluer pink than they are now. Today's flamingos' feathers are almost orange by comparison both in photos and in real time.
@dulciknit - I think you are right. However, it is probably down to the better understanding of their food. The colour comes from the uniquely salty waters where they live. The shrimp pick up the colour from the salts and the flamingo get their colour from the shrimp. When I was younger they gave them salt direct and it was not quite the same. I have noted the same point as you on a number of other shoots. So it is not just from this flock. Well observed there.
