I dedicate this shot to my friend John who has a 'thing' about windmills.
I was asked where this picture was taken... here are the details:
Ancien Moulin de Moidrey
50170 Pontorson, France.
The windmill is on a hill top. From there you can see the Mont Saint Michel about five miles to the North.

love this, have never seen a round windmill before or one that was so short. fav, Damon, really enjoy how you composed your shot, how the hay bale in foreground seems larger than the mill. wonderful perspective.
Instant fav from the thumbnail for me, not only great composition and processing but a great reminder for me of a holiday in one of these down in the Dordogne last year - so French!
@mwarren365 - I think the roof turns so you can change the direction the sails face. Unfortunately the windmill was shut the day we went so we did not get inside. Cool place - I love windmills.
It's the time of year for baling hey and so we seen them eveywhere in the country..your picture of the bales is extra nice because of the beutiful windmill which we hardly ever get to see here.
My school art teacher always used to nag us to stand back from our work and others' paintings, so it's something I tend to do with photos too and it's really worth doing it with this 'cause then you get the full impact of the sense of distance in the shot. Probably why the thumbnail's so striking too.
Beautifully composed. It looks like Constable does Minimalism in France. Love the sky too.
An AWESOME pov, net ...love the soft colors and the textures. This is so much more beautiful than our "energy windmills!" Such character and artistic beauty. Lovely.
What a beautiful landscape! Love the hills with the bales of hay - the round windmill is so striking. That's one of the things I love about this site - getting to see places around the world. I'd never see anything like this in New England!
