He looks good against the dark background, it emphasises the contrasting tones in his plumage and those amazing amber eyes. I love eagle owls. Great pov, of course.

A striking photo of a striking bird. I wasn't so positive about the one that was screeching loudly and incessantly in our garden at 3 a.m. yesterday morning though!

The detail and colour of every feather are there, beautifully contrasted against black background. The eyes have it, as in your article, lots of power at that level.
