Beside the arch of trees is a garden with some wonderful evergreens. They were laid out in the block pattern you see, but I took advantage of the wide angle of the fisheye lens to make the whole thing seem a world on its own!

Yes, I love the fisheye lens. However, it has to be used in certain places. Sometimes the shots just look plain wierd. But pictures where a central subject is made to stand out work particularly well.
it's a knot garden with herbs - that one in the foreground is santolina which is an Elizabethan strewing herb, the ones they had on the floor to make life smell better
