Again yesterday too easy. Lots of people got the answer or at least the idea...

Yet another honorable mention to Paula Brumbe [@brumbe] who demonstrated a questionable grasp on sanity with "A meringue cookie egg white thingie majig". And, it was all downhill from there for her. Also, it was not a "garlic"... I did not see that one coming.

The answer is of course a limpet shell. People tend to pronounce this "limpit" in the UK. In terms of names I love the idea of these being called "Chinamen's Hats". Thanks Robin [@girlie], very descriptive.
