My eldest says I need to say it is a nice farmer in the tractor. We see him about the village a lot. I didn't grow up in the countryside, but after 8 years of living here I feel like I watch and know the changing seasons by what happens on the farms that surround our village. One sign its Autumn nearly is the arrival of the manure lorries to pump the fields full of manure. But for now its harvest time.
Love this. The cropping works brilliantly. My son was so desperate to watch tractors we would sit and picnic in the field while they silaged ... round and round the field.
I *did* grow up in the country and knew June 1st by the first cutting of the hay; July by how tall the corn had gotten; and many others. Never once did I measure fall by manure in the fields. Interesting perspective, Ruth! Love the photo, too!
