We've got the grumps me and littlest. Littlest has big huge molars breaking through. I've not got big huge molars breaking through.... Now I have taken my eye off him a moment too long and he has now wiped the iPad again....Apologies for not keeping up this week...I fear it may continue for a while. Oh and better on black....
This is gorgeous Ruth!! Fabulous light on his lovely little face!! I got a little lump in my throat when I saw how he has those two fingers in his mouth like that. My darling Godson used to do the same and it's not often you see those two fingers being sucked!! My Godson is now 26 and has just qualified as a doctor and gone to the US for his first post doc job at a Uni in California. Thank you for my little trip down memory lane. I wonder what the future holds for your little darling? Hope you both feel better soon!! Huge Fav!
Lovely shot, Ruth. I can see that the light on the lower hand adds to the story but it's a distraction from what I see as the portrait aspect of this shot - face and upper hand. The choice is keep the story or crop to add a touch of mystery. Glad you aren't having molar trouble ... as for the grumps, well it's November!
@pamknowler he has done that since he was 4 months old. He had horrendous 24 hr long colic for 4 months found these two fingers and drastically improved. They comfort him when tired and help him to sleep. I've only meet one other kiddie who does the same. His key worker at his pre schoo has a soft spot for him as he is the first child she has seen do this since her now 13 old did. Apparently he still does in his sleep at night.
Love this one Ruth.....such delightful soft light.....it looks so cosy. Both of you with tooth trouble, at least you can sympathise with each other!
Your boys face is so sweet as he chews his fingers & reads the ipad.
Great shot, the lighting from the iPad is perfect. I hope he feels better soon, the poor little ones don't have a good time when they come through. And they also have a tendency to wipe out iPads (and phones), just remember to back up regularly:)
A wonderful portrait, and I like the lower hand where it is, I find it offers context and not distraction. Lighting and expression are beautiful. Hope his molars come through without much more travail and that you both feel better.
