Retiring by nickspicsnz

Retiring

The principal of our school is retiring at the end of the year after nearly 15 years as our principal. We had a community farewell for him today with flowers for his wife and a cake. An occasion full of speeches, memories, laughter and some tears.

I seem to have been in a bit of a whirlwind since he announced his retirement six months ago. Because I'm his secretary, and secretary for the Board of Trustees (equivalent to school governers in the UK), I have been doing all the admin for recruiting his replacement - a much bigger job than I thought it would be. That's one of the reasons why I've been getting behind on 365 so I apologise for not being as up to date with commenting as I would like to be.
No need to apologized, life gets busy!!!! Great capture and congrats to his retirement.

You will be sad Nick....rather apprehensive too about his replacement I expect. Change isn't always welcome.

You have had a huge job on your hands - a lovely image to show off the cake with the recipients in the background.

I like the pov in this shot, with its inclusion of a bit of the cake and a bit of the people. Sounds like a lot of extra work for you at what is a busy time of year anyway.
