I seem to have a bit of a bird fetish at the moment - here's another one from my visit to the lake in Huntly. I gave this one a bit of a process to make it slightly high key. I liked the way the groups of geese were swimming in lines.
I did have a lovely photo of Tilly today, and some shots of one of our cats with her tongue sticking out a bit, but I think I'm probably the only person who will appreciate them so I decided to upload another bird one from the other day instead.
Fabulous image, lovely processing, and such well trained geese. Fav.
Much as I like this, may I make a suggestion, I think there is another much stronger image here. Have you tried cropping straight across just below the post the cormorant is sat on ? It totally changes the image, but the processing and your clever geese still work.
@markp Thanks for your comments and fav Mark, and also for your suggestion of an alternative crop. I'll try it out and see how it looks - I can see how the shag and other geese could be a distraction. Having said that I did quite like the shag and mirror of the other row of geese at the top being in the picture as I felt they added a bit of something - balance or depth maybe.
@nickspicsnz Thanks Nick, yes, it wasn't meant as a criticism of your original image, which has been very successful, and obviously well liked. I agree with your comments about the geese at the back adding depth as well. Congratulations on getting on the Popular Page.
