Tea Horse Road by nickspicsnz

Tea Horse Road

This sculpture at the tea plantation we visited yesterday represents Tea Horse Road which is a long and ancient trade route. The 10,000km tea journey starts in the mountainous Yunnan region of southern China. The route follows the ancient tea horse road through Burma, Bengal, Nepal and up to the Sichuan Province and then out to the world.
This is lovely. Quite a moving sculpture. One can only wonder what such a trek must have been like - not easy I would imagine :/
