This is another shot from our trip to Raglan just before Christmas. The hills and beaches we could see across the bay look quite isolated so I Googled to see if there are any roads to the beaches but there aren't any.
(No decent photos taken over the last few days so using this photo from a few days ago. I think this picture suits the Dec Words List words Turquoise and Sand.)
I know this area quite well as my son & family lived in Wainaro for a few years. We used to go up this way quite a bit & have actually been on beeches along there but only by quad bike across a farm that Ant & Jo were friendly with, quite black sand. Not far off the Nicau cafe where I first met @julzmaioro & @dide
@fbailey It was really beautiful the day we visited - very different to the last time I was at Raglan when it was dull and grey! @susiemc Much of the coastline around New Zealand is inaccessible as it's surrounded by private land. Unfortunately I don't do boats on the sea terribly well - or at least my stomach doesn't! :( @happypat Lol, I know the feeling. You're lucky to have been able to visit the "beeches"! ;) @julzmaioro That sounds like a great plan - although I'm not going through those caves again, just for a walk around there somewhere, lol! I know a few more who may like to come along too, eh @alfredrico, @yorkshirekiwi, @thrumylenz and @alinz ? @alfredrico Thanks Alfred, it did look stunning that day.
