While I was out with the dogs yesterday I let them swim in a muddy stream. This patch of bright green algae was on the far side. When I was trying to find out if it had a name I found it could either be green algae or blue-green algae. I had a bit of a panic because blue-green algae is cyanobacteria which is toxic to dogs. I felt this was green algae as it seemed blue-green algae was more on the surface in google images, However, I still had a nervous evening/overnight waiting to see if the dogs had any symptoms. Both were fine though. Learnt my lesson and I won't be letting them go in water like this again.
