For Bazza

My father-in-law passed away late this morning. He has been ill for over a year now and has been living in a nursing home. Although we knew he was sick, it was still a shock to receive the phone call informing us of his passing.

I was planning on making this orange trifle today (I had some cakes that didn't quite work out and the best thing to do is make trifle). Now we will have it as part of a celebration dinner to remember Bazza (the name he decided his grandchildren should call him) and we will share with our girls stories of their grandfather.

Oh my to create something that looks so delightful with a heavy heart is quite an accomplishment. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although my children are grown, they still love hearing stories about my father who passed away 4 years ago now. Seems like yesterday.
