A Year Without a School Bus by njmom3

A Year Without a School Bus

Schools have now been remote or hybrid for a year, and in this area, they will remain so for the rest of this academic year. I applaud our children’s resilience in adapting.
I worry about the school children - such a different experience. We've been fortunate that most of ours have remained in school (they had the option of virtual learning) and very very few cases of Covid among students or faculty. Feel blessed for our kids.

I am so thankful my children are grown and my grands are too young for school. I can’t imagine the anguish of the whole school situation.

We also need to be grateful to the school bus drivers and their dedication to their job in these difficult times.

The end is in sight as the vaccines roll out. Nice shot.

The children really need support from parents, of course! It will be an adventure they will never forget!

I'm hoping by 2022 we'll have this Covid crap well behind us. Fingers crossed! Meanwhile, I love the processing here, cool!

So much disruption for the children. Let’s hope that they can return to school soon.

Children do adapt more readily. Nice bus! We still have old ones.

This brings back memories. After I retired I drove one of these for 7 and a half years. We called them -"short buses". One school district in my area never closed. They held in school classes throughout the school year. Most others had online only and a few others had a combination of the two to allow students to have some contact with teachers and other students. All are back to being in classrooms to finish out the school year.
It has certainly been trying times for school activities.

Nature forced us to stop in this crazy run. This is the moment to stand and reflect. It will also be useful for children.
Lovely shot.

We haven't seen them here in ages. I think some are starting to run now on a very limited basis but as far as I know there is more virtual learning than in-class learning going on. It's going to be interesting to see what happens because some school systems are starting new initiatives that I'm not sure many parents will support as they are very controversial. We'll see...
