The Fig is always the last tree in my garden to burst into leaf and it always gives me a thrill to know that a Mediterranean tree has survived another Scottish winter.
As you can see there are also young fruits forming, promising a delicious late summer harvest.
I do not know why Adam and Eve chose to eat an apple, I would rather have a fig any day.
