@shutterbugger tx Jenn! no clue why they were out... but it was a really lovely day and i bet they enjoyed the exercise :) work has been nutty busy so i haven't a clue what's been happening at city hall of late...
Argh... how do you do this!!! I want you to show me how you get such awesome shots... that light... just the whole street thing and your processing these days is just awesome.
@ozziehoffy tx! but i don't do anything that's particularly special... i do chase the light... a lot... you'll see some urban photographers who will pick their backdrop - i'll usually pick my light... i've likely skipped some decent shots because the light did not appeal ;p... for processing, i've been using lightroom a fair bit (before nik silver efex) and i've been decreasing rather than increasing clarity... not sure if it's the "right" way to do it, but that's what gives the soft glowy hazy feel to some of the shots - most pronounced in my hypnotized shot... :)
I understand why this would seem chaotic, but I have looked at this a few times, although I see the rest of he action, it's like you and that second cyclist, have a stand still moment , it is the first thing I notice, maybe cuz of he awesome light? Or maybe I am being narsasistic due to my fear of getting sprung capturing street photography.....I will shhh now
@gigiz hmmm... interesting take... indeed, i was shooting the light... i really wanted the horses in the sun's flare, but darned pedestrians kept getting in my way (this is a hugely busy corner)... for me, what ties it together is that the first cyclist and the young woman crossing the road are both looking up at the policeman on the horse... but i'm not sure if i just want to see that or if it's really there and works...
@northy I use LR... hmmm interesting re: the clarity!! I'd not think to do that, but now you've given me help for something that I had in mind to try to do.. this might be what it needs!
On foot, on bike, on horseback, in car...many modes of transport here, all made interesting with the use of the glaring sunlight and your wonderful processing.
The use of light in your shots is incredible.... It seems you have an extra light sensor enabling you to capture the most extraordinary light in street scenes.
this shot is happening :) I like the "triangle" created by the pedestrian & the other cyclist looking at the horse while the other cyclist seems to look at pedestrian's direction. And the blinding light in the middle of the triangle...
Lovely street shot, I like your thinking about chasing the light. The light is really beautiful here, I had a look at it on Flickr yesterday too. I really like the first cyclist looking up at the horses, my first thought was envy, he wants to be on one of those horses
