weird things make me happy... this spot Christine, Vikki and I found after driving around Hamilton late on Saturday night is one of them... we had to drive down roads that were labeled "closed" and park in spots that said "no parking"... but hey - nothing ventured, nothing gained!
had a fabulous day with @k1w1 and @summerfield shooting the sights in and around the city... many many tx to Christine for pulling this together and doing all the recognizance to find the best spots, AND driving us around :)
@maggiemae - i pulled my original version of the shot down to tweak so your comment got deleted :( to answer your question, long exposure and the small aperture (f/22) is what causes the starbursts to form... no special filters or effects...
It was totally an awesome day. I love that you posted a shot looking the other way. I love the processing too. Totally magical. Like I said in my post those signs were so misleading. The road was totally open and there was lots of parking. Could have parked 10 more cars in there :)
Very cool perspective and finish. The monotone treatment works a treat. It's a bit of a worry that two of the ladies I follow on here go shooting, up under bridges late at night though...
This is a magical place, the way that you've captured it! FAV for the composition, the colors, the lighting, the sparkling lights, the sense of serenity, the lines, and and and . . . !
Sounds like a great photo day! Love the star effects on the lights caused by the f22 as mentioned above. So great to see all 3 images taken from same area but different photographer and point of view @summerfield@k1w1
1) Love the star "effect" on this bridge.
2) Hamilton is my maiden name, so this must be a great place!
3) Sure wish I could have tagged along- sounds like a great meet up- and obviously it was by this shot! fav
