this is not the shot i planned... the shot i planned involved an ironing board and a different location... unfortunately our ironing board is broken and wouldn't collapse down so i could put it in the car... and my chosen location was off limits due to some police investigation or something (yikes!)...
so.. uhm... yeah... THIS... i expect it defies explanation... i kind of blame Jani and Jase because of suggestions they made on one of my shots from January...
not sure if this qualifies as surreal juxtaposition, but i think it is close so i am tagging it for my get pushed challenge set by @3sixty5...

okay, you brought a lamp to the parkette. what else is in that big bag of yours? :-D ironing board, yeah, i remember that from last winter. tee-hee! but i do have an idea for that! excellent composition and set up. i love it!
This is a heck of a shot. I freaking love it. :) I had two shots planned. One panned out between the rains. The other ended up with a huge smudge on the lens and I didn't figure it out until I was leaving...from the center of the road (yes, I'm a bit dumb)...while cars whisked by...it was a true One Night Stand kinda night. :) Fav.
This is super cool and the starbursts are fantastic! Love that your original plan involved trucking an ironing board around ... hoping that still makes an appearance!

You do not need to apologize at all for this not being the shot you planned- it's crazy! I was reading your description and thinking "What lamp?" That is either an indication of how creative this shot is or proof that I need new glasses. It's totally surreal- and totally a fav.
Intriguing image. Lol at your tags -I had the same thought as I was just going to stop for a quick shot on my way home for a photo club meeting -1 hour later & no where are you call.
