today is the last day for the one night stand challenge - the technique was "high speed"...
at a loss for inspiration i took myself for a walk along the river with a thought to perhaps shooting cyclists or something... found a spot overlooking the river that screamed for long exposure... took the shot, was in the midst of dialling back in the high speed settings when this pair of birds flew by... sadly, i was only up to 1/40s at the time...
and it is now 10:30 and i need to crawl into bed... muggy day = migraine and i am back to work tomorrow after a week off... perhaps i will play around with speed tomorrow to make up for this...
You must be so disappointed, hoping to get a shot of some fat guy on a bike, but having to settle for a perfectly timed and composed Zen shot like this. So sad. ;-)
Not a fail, at all, as others have said before me.
Actually, this put me in mind of Andre Bjerke’s "De dødes tjern» (‘Lake of the dead’, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_of_the_Dead), written under teh pseudonym Bernhard Borge, turned into film in 1958.
@bankmann ugh... i don't "do" horror! (making it extremely difficult to wrap my mind around a mad hatters shot for the week, but i digress)... i actually was reminded of the scene in one of the last harry potters - the one where there's a lake full of souls?

Now that you mention it, the mood and colour work does indeed match some scenes in those movies… (Which I loved, by the way… :-p )
