For get pushed this week, Steve (@scarybird) challenged me to take a photo of something that scares me, a person, a place, a thing or even a type of photograph.. and it must be in colour (Steve said " wonderful Technicolor" but one must draw a line somewhere ;p)
anyhoo... being short of time until the weekend, i decided to work on food photography which i suck at worse than portraiture... Monday i tried something... but it didn't work... Tuesday i tried something else... but it didn't work... today i tried blueberries... it still didn't work... i'm crying uncle... i ate the blueberries...
@scarybird - first effort at my challenge that i felt may be worth posting... i have a couple more conceptual ideas for the challenge that i will work on over the weekend :)
@amandal i dunno... the comp is all wrong, the focus point is bugging me, and i can't get the soft light and general prettiness that i think is needed for successful food shots... admittedly i haven't spent oodles of time researching what sort of set up and settings should be used...
this is an awesome shot. the pov and the set up is different and the lighting couldn't have been any better. if your pusher wouldn't like this, i might get violent, in some sort of way like eating a whole blueberry pie. yeah, steve, that's a threat! :-P
I have been looking at this for ages because a lot of skill has gone in to it and it's a great photo. If food photography scares you, you need to be scared more often ! Well done partner
Ps I think this is the point I am supposed to say I hate it so Summerfield gets violent and eats the pie. I'll bring the cream ... Sorry Summerfield not this occasion x
@janim tx Jani... sadly, i will be spending most of saturday, including saturday night, ferrying kids around to hockey :( my husband is away for the weekend and my oldest has late night practice... my spare time comes from having some hours at home where i don't need to be doing work (i have a report due tomorrow i need to be working on right now)...
