thank you for all the lovely feedback on my tapestry shot from yesterday... not sure when (if ever) i'll have the time and energy to take another go at that concept... i think if i do, i'd take a very different approach... what can i say... it was a learning experience :)
I hate you Mira... or specifically, I hate the way you can produce a fine art image from the least promising of subjects. Actually, I don't hate your talent at all... I'm just sooooo jealous - big Fav!
Oh, this is REALLY good! I just bought one of the honey thingies and had been planning to do a honey shot. This one inspires! Love the darker tones, low-key image.
Boy I tried something like this with honey dripping and failed miserably. Hard to capture it before it stops flowing. Let alone get the settings right.
@joansmor lots of trial and error involved ;p plus i had the honey stick propped in a book and was pouring the honey from the jar on top of it to keep it flowing... plus using the timer on the camera to trigger the shutter... like i said... it got a bit messy there!
@northy I figured the timer for the shutter but couldn't find something to hold the items I was dripping from. SO I did it from the jar and held off camera. http://365project.org/joansmor/extras/2014-11-09 this was my attempt. I hated that the stream was so thin.
This turned out really nicely, for all the work required to pull it off. The light is beautiful, especially on the top of the honey stick and along the honey stream. Not too thin at all, in my opinion.
