thank you all so much for the great response to my golden hour shot from yesterday... just for comparison, i will try to post a colour version... the city really was bathed in gold :)
@northy I used to use negative clarity but lately I've taken to using a 10 pixel Gaussian blur and controlling the depth with the opacity slider and a layer mask enables you to vary the effect in different parts of the image.
@vignouse hmmm... I'll have to give that method a try... I do use Gaussian blur a fair bit for other things, but rarely for street or nature... I'm not sure why other than a twisted view that decreasing clarity somehow preserves more of the reality than adding blur ;p
