spring thaw by northy

spring thaw

the lighting for this completely defeated me... the sun was beating down on the rock face, causing the ice to melt and the resulting water was glistening something glorious... none of my pictures do the scene justice... but glad to have caught it anyway :)
Love it. Seems strange that winter is just thawing. Definitely moved on to summer here.

looks like a large amount of water coming off those rocks...good effort regardless of the challenges... :o)

A difficult shot with the light and sheen of water on the rocks, great in b&w.

The water comes out well against the rock. Sometimes the fee of the natural landscape is a challenge to reproduce. Good capture.

Hi Northy, its a lovely picture, great textures and composition. A really strong shot.

Its so annoying when the natural beauty evades the still. I think particularly with moving water the issue is that your eyes get the glistening movement and subtle shifts in tone that come with it & a still just struggles to convey that. However good it is your eye expects the movement. Animated .gif? I've never tried one, have you?

Not an easy capture as I have tried a few like this myself. Unsuccessfully.
