the 'bus

for get pushed this week, @lilacphotography challenged me to use a high ISO and lots of grain in a picture that is otherwise my usual style... i struggle with this kind of challenge because i just can never think of a suitable subject where i am forced to use high ISO... i took a bunch of high ISO shots at my kids hockey game this morning, but i don't think they'd be considered my usual style ;p

this is a still set-up shot so i could have used ISO 100 and a slow shutter speed... but i didn't...
@lilacphotography - voila... high ISO... i really need to come up with a better concept so that there is some point to the high ISO, but this is what I've got :)

@summerfield sorry! for some reason the song i have in my head is "just drive she said" - but that wasn't about a bus ;p

@northy wow! 12800! I'm not sure I've tried that ISO yet! Impressive! Thanks though for this shot. I know you set it up and all but I love to see how the settings impact the overall end product. This has a weird gloomy yet cheerful look to it. I can't quite place it!

Great B&W shot. You did great for the challenge.

It has lots of grain and is recognisably your style so it meets the brief. One of your 'tunnel flooded with light' shots might also work.

High ISO at hockey - surely not. ;)

I love this moody monochrome work of yours but for your next get pushed (colour and flower having been done recently ) "Feminine + Fabric"
