what is this "telephone" of which you speak?

remember these?

for my get pushed challenge set by @zshadowwalker who asked me to shoot full colour, supersaturated and try something like HDR... so there... mission accomplished... :D
@zshadowwalker - i tried... really i did! i seem to be missing the HDR gene :) but it was an excellent exercise nonetheless!

There's even a phone book there. Weird.
Great shot! That red really stands out.

Great choice for a contrast and a box like effect!

Not something you see very often any more! Love it!

Just found a booth at Howe Caverns. I shoved four boys in and photographed with my fisheye. Was almost my option for the day. I realized they had no concept of cramming as many people in as possible. A good laugh.

Well...and you say I went crazy with the colour...

Excellent composition!

I truly appreciate seeing the historical now and then. Image, having to actually stand still and talk on the phone. One thing, that these old relics allowed is to slam down the phone when you were pissed off at who you were talking to-can't do that with an iphone.

Hello and fav from the other side:)
February 27th, 2016
I certainly don't see many (any?) lately.
February 27th, 2016
Big smile!! Definitely a scene from the past!

Something so surreal about this. For reasons I don't fully understand myself, it's going into my favorites.
February 27th, 2016
Excellent!
February 27th, 2016
Kinda modern-retro vibe there which I really like :)

Good Looking Image with the colour HDR can easily be overdone this has a nice balance to it.
February 27th, 2016
Brilliant ....were you in a museum ;)
February 27th, 2016
You say that colour is not your schtick... but you instinctively choose the perfect subject for a supersaturated HDR pastiche - Andy Warhol would have been proud of you.
February 27th, 2016
@vignouse thank you... But not instinctive! I've been experimenting w various subjects all week - this was the only one where I felt the processing I was challenged to do improved the image rather than spoiled it :)
February 27th, 2016
did you time travel? what are those things? hahaha
February 27th, 2016
Wow, a good choice for a saturated color shot! I like it... and gosh those things sure feel ancient...
February 27th, 2016
Fantastic - and here's one that wouldn't have worked in b&w
February 27th, 2016
challenge met...and nicely done ...
February 27th, 2016
Interesting and nicely taken shot. Looks like the middle one may even still have a directory with it
February 27th, 2016
great capture and find. I never see them anymore
February 28th, 2016
Very cool. Very.
February 28th, 2016
Great colours

Thoughts on the RX100? The mark one is dead cheap so thinking of getting one as a "throw in the bag" camera
February 28th, 2016
@jase_yet_again hello stranger! i'm still getting used to the RX... definitely got a ton of bells and whistles to give you control in a tiny package... two (potential) drawbacks are 1 - i find the controls a bit small and fiddly... i have small hands and still feel clumsy... and 2 - doesn't zoom in as tight as i would like... not actually sure WHAT it zooms to... on LR it shows a range between about 8mm and 25mm... which may work for you... but the ability to shoot a bit tighter would've been nice :)

what've you been up to these days?
February 29th, 2016
Fav!
February 29th, 2016
Fav, love the orange colour of the bricks. Looks like a scene out of Matrix
February 29th, 2016
Well I love it when you supersaturate :) xx
