-- back in LR i made 2 copies of the image... added cold tones to one and warmer tones to the other... then in PS i used a graduated filter to transition from one to the other...
-- i also think i figured out how to do the "frequency separation" thing in PS... which involved using a considerable amount of blur...
(i'm almost tempted to tag for the etsooi challenge - which this go around is "duotone" - but i don't think i can claim the image is both monotone *and* duotone at the same time, can i??? ;p)
