These little tiny seeds burst into the world from the pods that hold them. It is always a surprise when you pick them and they pop open in your fingers.
I've seen these pods in the past but never picked one up. I can't wait to see one again now. I'm going to examine it closely thanks to your beautiful image! Nature...it never fails to fascinate.

I planned a shot of ourvariety of impatients when they are ripe (not yet). But I will never get anything beautiful like this. Btw, our trivial name for a variety this plant is "don't touch me".
It took some time to get this shot, as the pods I had been collecting mysteriously kept popping on my kitchen counter. I'm not sure who found them irresistible to pop. :)
