Snow blanket by novab

Snow blanket

The snow covered the ground and my oak tree was all tucked in with a blanket of snow at it's feet.

I keep returning to this image and needed to post it, because I like how the snow slopes around the oak tree in my front yard and the shadow created by the trunk. But I wonder if there is too much negative space for this image.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday!

Nicely captured!!

OK...LOVE the imagery and the thought behind it... "cozy beneath a blanket of snow"... OK...this would be coming from my point of view... I love having negative space because I'd take this and start filling it in with some text and texture! (I've been trying to get some old post cards/envelopes with Nova Scotia addresses and that nice old handwriting style. I'd use some of that. faintly superimposed to make it like a postcard that spoke of the time of year and place...)

just my take on it...

Untouched snow is so lovely! Is it b&w or just naturally that way. I really do love it and I agree with Louise.

@Weezilou Louise I am thinking the same thing and I have one I took at my son's. Maybe I will post it today and see what you think.

It is so easy to get this sort of shot wrong, but you are bang on.

Sometimes a photo just speaks to you! There is lots going on, with shape, texture and shadow. Lovely.
