A couple people asked how I created the image on the right and here are the details for anyone that is interested.
I used the 'adjustment brush' in Lightroom to highlight the background and zoomed in, to get close to my man's form, which does take some time and a steady hand. Then I changed the exposure to make it white. I also adjusted the contrast and clarity and of course black and white. And Voila!
